Human Connection is the Work. Growth is the Outcome.

ABOUT SHAW ENTERPRISES

Shaw Enterprises is a relationship-led business development firm serving organizations pursuing a defined market, major account, strategic partnership, or high-value growth initiative.

We work with leadership to strengthen existing relationships, develop new connections, and build access to the owners, decision-makers, and referral partners relevant to their business.

Our work begins with understanding the organization we represent: its capabilities, commercial priorities, and capacity to deliver. Through in-person engagement and consistent follow-through, we develop relationships that can lead to qualified opportunities, projects, and long-term business.

Where the Model Began

Shaw Enterprises grew from more than 20 years of experience across business ownership, professional relationships, and family life.

Throughout those years, founder Britney M. Valas recognized a recurring pattern: a conversation remembered, a need understood, and a connection that could help. Her ability to retain details and recognize relationships between seemingly separate needs became a practical way to solve problems for herself, her family, and others.

As a mother of five, she has refined that ability daily. Getting three children to three different activities at the same time requires preparation, resourcefulness, and an understanding of how each decision affects everyone involved. Meeting one need often means coordinating several people, schedules, and resources.

Her professional experience brought the same demands in different forms: balancing priorities, anticipating obstacles, recognizing opportunities, and making effective use of time.

Shaw brings those experiences together in a business development model. Understand the people involved. See where their needs and capabilities connect. Build relationships that make those connections useful.

Connection Is Personal

For Britney, being present with people is a genuine source of joy.

She enjoys listening closely, learning how someone sees the world, and exploring what might help. Sometimes the need is clearly expressed. Other times, it emerges through a thoughtful question or a detail remembered from an earlier conversation.

Her varied experiences have given her many occasions to see an unexpected connection become useful at just the right time. A strong memory, an eye for patterns, and a different set of perspectives help her recognize those possibilities. Experience has taught her to ask questions, understand the fit, and follow through with integrity.

What matters most is that the connection cultivated serves people.

Your Reputation Comes Into the Room With Us

When Shaw represents your firm, people begin forming an impression of your business through their experience with us.

We take that responsibility seriously.

We learn before speaking on your behalf. We prepare before asking for someone’s time. We communicate accurately, make introductions for a reason, and follow through on commitments.

In-person engagement gives us room to listen, understand priorities, and determine whether there is a genuine fit. We approach each conversation with interest in the person and clarity about the business we represent.

As trust develops, we bring your leadership into the relationship with the context needed to build on it. Our responsibility is to establish confidence in your organization, not create a relationship that depends on Shaw alone.

The Family Behind the Name

Shaw Enterprises carries Britney’s grandmother’s maiden name, honoring a connection passed through generations. Marguerite Shaw. Britney inherited her grandmother’s naturally red hair and later gave the family name to her oldest son, Ethan Shaw, who shares that same distinctive, ginger trait.

'Shawlotte’s Web' draws its moniker from Britney’s youngest daughter, Charlotte Anne. Together, the names, 'Shaw Enterprises' and 'Shawlotte's Web' place family at the heart of both the business and its network of partnerships.

Britney's entire motivational foundation encompasses the multitude of infinite layers originating from her love, protection and provision for her five children.

Shaw Enterprises honors the family she comes from and the family created to take a legacy with it tomorrow.

Shaw Enterprises is dedicated to Ava, Ethan, Jack, Rose, and Charlotte.

Britney Valas

Founder & CEO, Shaw Enterprises

Britney M. Valas works directly with CEOs, founders, and executive teams to develop the relationships, referral networks, and qualified opportunities that support their growth objectives.

She brings more than 20 years of experience across business ownership, national partnerships, sales, marketing, and operations. Her background combines responsibility for winning business with the practical demands of running it, giving her an understanding of both opportunity development and the capacity required to deliver.

At Willmeng Construction, she developed national partnership relationships across industrial, healthcare, hospitality, data center, and mixed-use sectors. That work connected developers, architects, engineers, and end users around potential projects across multiple states.

At Foster Web Marketing, she doubled closed sales within one month through sales-process redesign and tripled client acquisition through a targeted conference strategy. As an owner and operator of Kansas locations of Another Broken Egg Cafe®, she improved profitability, employee retention, and customer experience. Earlier roles included pharmaceutical sales, nonprofit development, and marketing leadership.

Through Shaw Enterprises, Britney translates growth priorities into a focused relationship-development plan. She identifies decision-makers and referral sources, selects relevant conferences and events, cultivates relationships, and prepares leadership for conversations where there is meaningful alignment.

She remains involved as opportunities develop, while the client’s team leads technical evaluation, proposals, contracts, and delivery.

Britney is based in Overland Park, Kansas. She holds a B.S. in Business Marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is pursuing an Executive MBA at Rockhurst University, with completion expected in 2028.

Relationships Built for More Than One Project

Commercial Discipline Behind the Relationship Work

Commercial Discipline Behind the Relationship Work

A relationship may begin around a specific opportunity and become valuable in ways neither party anticipated.

A first project can lead to repeat work. A conversation can reveal a need for another specialist. An introduction can open a market that was not part of the original plan.

We stay attentive to those possibilities while remaining focused on the client’s priorities.

Through Shawlotte’s Web, clients can also access complementary firms, advisors, and trusted connectors. These partnerships expand the expertise and resources available to our clients and theirs, with introductions guided by need and fit.

The objective is to build relationships that remain useful as businesses grow and their needs change.

Clients should understand how their investment is being used and what the work is producing.

Each engagement connects a defined growth objective with relationship priorities, an approved activation budget, and measures of progress.

Weekly alignment and monthly reporting keep leadership informed about activity, executive introductions, qualified opportunities, and commercial outcomes.

Projected pipelines, secured projects, and attributable revenue are tracked separately. Responsibilities are established so that both teams know who is advancing the relationship and who is leading the commercial work.

Relationships take time.

Accountability shows the progress and results produced from connections.
